About Me

My photo
I love spending time with my friends and desire to grow in my relationship with my Savior. I am striving to live my life for Jesus. It's not always easy, and I'm definitely not perfect (If I was, there would have been no reason for Jesus to die in my place). He is changing my life and always guiding me through life, even when I don't feel Him.

Friend at the Library

So I am at the Furman University library with Casey trying to write my paper, and there is definitely some type of animal running on top of the ceiling tiles! A very interesting and loud sound. Our little friend (Casey decided to call him Carlos) does not sound small by any means....

It's been like forever...

So I haven't posted in what feels like forever!! Just trying to find time in the midst of a college work load can be difficult.

I got to eat lunch with two of my favorite people on campus today: Katie and Analea.  I haven't seen them all that much this semester, but it's so encouraging just to eat lunch together, catch up on life, and be completely random!!!

Wasn't Expecting That

So I walked into my Old Testament class today and I see my professor sprawled on the floor with the upper half of his body under the large podium.  Apparently, he was messing with the cables trying to get the powerpoint to work.  Needless to say, I had the look of utter confusion as I made my way to my seat....

Crickets

I would really like to know how crickets keep getting in my dorm room. I have seen three throughout the course of the semester. It's too bad I'm no longer at camp. I would give them to Jack for his nature lodge!!

I Think They Planned That....

Is it just me, or does it seem that college professors seem to plan all their test around the same week?  I have one test on Friday, an online project due Sunday, two tests on Monday, one test on Tuesday, and a paper due Tuesday.  This just doesn't feel like a coincidence...

Priceless Procrastination

So, my roommate and I decided to show you all one way to have fun while living on a college campus...look up cheesy jokes! and since we are on a Christian campus, we sometimes like to read the Biblical Jokes as well, which is what the following 15mins are! yes, that's a long time, but we were having so much fun!!! =]

P.S. the loud beap around the 10'30" mark was a text from my wonderful and totally awesome new found cousin, Becca!

Swimming With Fish 'n' Rays

This is at Discovery Cove in Orlando, FL. It was probably my favorite thing we did the whole week.  Though this particular experience was a little intimidating at first...some of the rays were as big and bigger than me!!!

...and I just noticed that if you listen closely you can hear me breathing with my snorkel...weird. Also, I think the other weird noises are the sounds Heather and I were making when they came into view...the big "scream" near the end is definitely Heather... haha

Valuable Lessons from Camp Marietta

Ok so i learned many things at Marietta about myself...one being that I'm a fairly clumbsy person.  I have never thought so before but this list of some of the lessons that I have learned the hard way.

1. there is a low hanging limb between cabins 4 and 6. After running into it once with your face, avoid it every other time you pass...it hasn't moved.

2. tread carefully on the gravel behind cabin 8...or you will gravel surf several feet. i experienced this approx. 5 times

3. never wear a brand new red bandana to water day unless you want dark pink water pouring from your face and a pink forhead.

4. do not try to jump from a cabin porch to the log on the path when it's wet...there is no traction

5.  never run from the pool to change clothes so you can play guitar b/c your friends may think something terrible has happened.

6.  when you are changing in the shower because you have no time because lunch is in 5 mins and you have eight girls who are also trying to change, do not bump the shower knob...it defeats the purpose of changing into dry clothes.

...that's all I have for now...I might think of more later...

Oh, College life has commenced..

So I'm back here at NGU, and the fun involving watching funny videos on YouTube has begun once again.  My mom has asked if we actually do anything school related because I'm always showing her videos like the one below.  The answer is, yes, we do actually get our work done; these are just good stress relievers.

We have started early to combat aging, and this facial workout is what we use.  Supposedly, a renowned surgeon came up with this and so it should be flawless.  I wanted to share this with you so that you too can work out your facial muscles.  This is a very serious exercise, so you must give it your full concentration.  If you can make it through the whole thing without suffering from a lack of air due to uncontrollable laughter, your sense of humor might possibly be broken, and you might want to consider getting it fixed.

One more thing...to get the full effect, you MUST do the workout as it is explained.

Learning Vocabulary

So at church last night the youth played some word trivia game at the beginning.  I know I'm not real familiar with big cool sounding words, so last night my vocabulary was expanded. I'm sure you'll like these. =]

Collywobbles-- horrendous diarrhea
Snurt-- to expel mucus when sneezing
Jehu-- a reckless driver

I hope you have been enlightened. =]
